Throngs of folks surrounded Miss America 2009 Katie Stam at the Minnesota State Fair last week.

The petite Miss America is no stranger to cows, growing up on an Indiana dairy farm. She was a 10-year 4-H member and showed dairy cows during her 4-H years.

While attending the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul last week, she served milk at the All You Can Drink Milk Stand sponsored by Minnesota dairy farmers, participated in a question and answer sessions at the butter sculpting booth and participated in various demonstrations at the Moo Booth.

The Minnesota State Fair, one of the largest in the country, wrapped up its 12-day run yesterday.
