How will you respond?

To protect public health and consumer confidence in dairy products, the dairy industry has agreed to:

1. Follow the government’s lead. Federal and state regulatory agencies are responsible for leading efforts during an animal disease outbreak or food safety crisis.

2. Respond only when appropriate. Though the industry will communicate internally in emergency situations, it will respond publicly only when dairy product safety is called into question.

3. Speak with one voice. To prevent and avoid confusion, statements and key messages will be distributed to industry communicators via the industry’s Web site.
