Smuggling cheese into Canada nets $1,000 to $2,000 per trip

National Public Radio is reporting that the Niagara Regional Police Service in Ontario has found a cheese smuggling ring trying to sell American cheese to Canadian pizzerias and restaurants.

American cheese typically is one third the price of Canadian cheese, and smugglers can often profit $1,000 to $2,000 per trip if they can sneak it across the border and make a sale.
