South Dakota Milk Production on the Rise

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says South Dakota increased its milk production in June.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says South Dakota increased its milk production in June.

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service says milk production in the state totaled 177 million pounds, a 5 percent increase over June 2013.

The average number of milk cows in June was 97,000. Milk production per cow averaged 1,825 pounds.
