Principles of Dairy Science will be offered by the University of Illinois in the fall of 2009 beginning on Sept 14th. This introductory class (ANSC210) covers nutrition, reproduction, milk secretion, calf and heifer management, dairy records, business management, forages, facilities, genetics, and herd health. The course will be coordinated by Mike Hutjens and team taught with Dr. Dave Miller.
Advanced Dairy Reproduction (ANSC 437) will begin on Sept 9th with Dick Wallace coordinating the class along with three other instructors. All phases of reproductive physiology, management, nutrition, and health will be covers.
Lectures are recorded on CD (class on demand) with an Internet live class held during the 11 weeks of class on Monday or Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 pm CDT.
