Spring Milk Prices Finally See Some Growth

Friday's rally in cheese followed through on Monday to have Class III milk testing a limit move for a few minutes. Cheddar blocks gained an additional 3 ½ cents to $1.55/lb with CHeddar Barrels up 3 ¾ cents to $1.56 3/4/lb. This had cheese gaining over 10 cents over the last couple trading sessions. Butter put in new highs for April once again at $2.97/lb up 3 cents. Grade a non fat dry milk bounced half a cent higher to $1.13 3/4/lb with just dry whey falling a penny to $0.38/lb.

Class III milk finished the day with April up 10 cents to $15.67 and May up 34 cents to $16.75, but had a daily high at 17.06 for a short window. June Class III milk gained 35 cents to $17.39 and July forward were mostly higher with NOvember down 4 cents and the balance up 4-26 cents.

Class IV milk continues to see new highs. APril - June held unchanged at $20.06, 30.24, and 20.50/cwt respectively with the balance of the Year over $21/cwt. 

Grain and Feed markets continued to tread water sideways with Corn up 1 ¼ cent to $4.35 1/2, Soybeans fell 3 ½ cents to $11.81 ½ with soybean meal finding some support and gaining $2.90 to $339.10/ton.
