NMPF Wants Your Comments on Updated Version of FARM Program

 

Changes include an end to tail docking by Jan. 1, 2017.

 

Now’s your chance to comment on the updated and revised version of the FARM (Farmers Assuring Responsible Management) program, which included moving up the effective date of a national ban on tail docking to Jan. 1 2017.

 

The FARM Program is administered by the National Milk Producers Federation in partnership with Dairy Management, Inc. The aim is to create one, uniform and national animal care program across the country.  

 

The draft of the 3.0 Version includes both major and minor changes to all 11 chapters of the manual, says Emily Meredith, NMPF vice president of animal care. Those interested in providing comments on the draft Animal Care manual should utilize the comment form

 

All comments must be submitted to Emily Meredith by Wednesday, January 6 at 5:00 pm.
