Wisconsin Ranch Brothers Missing In Missouri
A search is underway in Missouri for missing brothers Nick and Justin Diemel, owners of the Wisconsin-based Diemel Cattle Company. The pair were in Missouri on a business trip and disappeared Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Sheriff Larry Fish said the brothers traveled to Missouri for business in Caldwell and Clinton counties; however, the men did not make their return flight home Sunday at 1:50 p.m. They are from the Shawano/Green Bay area in Wisconsin.
Kansas City’s FOX4 News reports that a man who does business with the Diemels said the firm feeds cattle in nearly every state from New York to Texas, and another source said the Diemels raise and feed many cows in Missouri.
The brothers' Ford F-250 rental truck was found abandoned Monday in a commuter lot in Holt, MO.
Relatives and employees of the brothers have gathered with the media on the perimeter of the search site. They’ve driven down from the Green Bay, Wis., area with all-terrain vehicles to help in the search if needed.
The wife and girlfriend of the missing men told reporters in Wisconsin that the brothers’ wallets and cell phones were not found in their vehicle when it was recovered in Holt earlier this week. KMBC 9 News reported the lot is between where the two were staying in Cameron and the Kansas City airport. People from the area said the small lot is rarely used.
FOX4 reported the property where the search is taking place is connected to a man named Joey Nelson. Nelson has a conviction for selling cattle that did not belong to him and spent two years in a federal penitentiary.
Relatives and employees of the Diemels declined to discuss why the brothers may have been at the search site, saying that they don’t want to jeopardize the investigation.
