Linemen in football are often affectionately referred to as the hog mollies. But if you’re a 300-lb. vegan defensive tackle who plays in the NFL you might find that name truly offensive.

The Chicago Bears’ David Carter changed his diet to all-vegan after watching a documentary claiming tendonitis was caused by dairy products.

During Carter’s first month of being a vegan he lost 40-lb. To maintain his 300-lb. frame he now eats 10,000 calories at five meals per day with four smoothies.

It also appears when looking through Carter’s Instagram profile he’s truly bitten into the vegan and animal rights rhetoric.

There’s a picture of a puppy and calf sharing the same face:

His hope to save the world by getting people to go vegan for 7 days:

For someone who plays on a team that's mascot is an omnivore (Chicago Bears) he sure is high and mighty that humans shouldn't be:

And Carter makes friends with cattle because he’s a vegan:

After looking at Carter's social media you wonder if he knows he makes a living playing a sport with a leather ball. That might deflate his vegan ego.
