Class III Milk Futures Remain in the $18 Range

Feed prices tumbled lower while milk prices remained unchanged.

Dairy Products were mixed today. Block Cheese slipped down $0.0150, to $1.8350. Barrel cheese fell the same amount down to$1.5850, with 5 lots trading. On the other hand, dry whey shifted upward 1.5 cents to 43 cents even. Quarter 2 Class III Milk Futures remained largely unchanged, shedding two cents to $18.30. Nonfat dry milk fell below expectations on this morning’s Global Dairy Trade. In turn, it fell 1.5 cents to $1.2350 while butter gained 1.5 cents to $2.3950. Q2 Class IV Milk Futures reacted negatively, finishing downward 16 cents to $19.07.

Grains were all down today. March Soybean Meal tumbled $7.60 to $481.40 while March Soybeans knocked off 5 and ¾ cents to $15.1525. March Soy oil tacked on $1.58 to $0.6089/lb. March Corn fell 3 cents to $6.74 even. March Wheat dipped a ¼ of a cent to $7.4925.

February Live Cattle came down 25 cents to $160.575. March Feeder Cattle fell 50 cents to $187.20 while April Lean Hogs settled at $83.275, adding 55 cents. Crude Oil found a floor, finishing upward $3.21 to $77.32/barrel. Fuel Oil followed suit as it accumulated nearly 14 cents, settling to $2.9073 a gallon at the Harbor.
