Fall Milk Price Futures Hold Steady

Milk markets were mostly unchanged on Monday heading into the holiday season.

Milk markets were mostly unchanged on Monday. November declined two cents while December was off nine cents. First half 2024 ranged from eight cents lower to a penny higher. Second half 2024 also saw some movement ranging from a nickel lower to a few cents stronger. Class IV markets were relatively unchanged as all 2024 contract months remain north of $19/cwt.

CME spot markets aligned with Class III and Class IV prices as little change was seen. Butter fell a penny to $3.35/lb while barrel cheese was down a quarter cent to $1.6425/lb. Blocks, powder, and whey settled unchanged despite trades in block cheese and whey.

Grain markets retraced three cents on Monday to $4.90/bu. Soybeans added six cents to $12.86. Meal was flat. Wheat ranged from two cents lower to six cents stronger.
