July Milk Prices Jump Higher

July milk gained 22 cents to $22.65/cwt. August moved 6 cents higher to $23.14/cwt. September milk settled at $23.57/cwt. Class IV milk prices were slightly lower.

Tuesday’s spot dairy product trade was a mixed bag. Blocks advanced 5.25 cents to $2.1425/lb. Barrels added 1.75 cents to $2.16/lb. Whey lost 1.75 cents to $0.4825/lb. Butter added 5.75 cents to $2.9675/lb. NDFM fell 1.50 cents to $1.7650/lb.

Class III prices traded higher after catching support and seeing a bid today in the spot cheese trade. July milk gained 22 cents to $22.65/cwt. August moved 6 cents higher to $23.14/cwt. September milk settled at $23.57/cwt. Class IV milk prices were slightly lower.

The grain complex was higher across the board. December corn climbed 6.25 cents to $6.5925/bu. November soybeans surged 29.75 cents to $14.6250/bu. December soybean meal increased $6.00 to $400.20/ton. September Chicago Wheat jumped 18.50 cents to $9.36/bu.

The livestock sector was lower across the board. August live cattle fell 75 cents to $132.72/cwt. August feeder cattle decreased $2.30 to $171.82/cwt. August lean hogs declined $1.05 to $103.82/cwt. August crude oil rallied $2.28 to $111.85/barrel.
