A mixed day Friday to finish a mixed week in the Dairy Markets. The CME spot trade gave back a bit of Thursday’s gains. Butter fell 2 ¾ cents to $1.47/lb. Cheddar blocks gave back 4 ¼ cents to $1.61 ¾ lb., Cheddar barrels fell 2 ¾ to $1.42/lb. Our block/barrel spread widening back to almost 20 cents.

Grade A non fat dry milk gained a penny to move to $1.42/lb. and Dry Whey gained a penny to $0.55 3/4/lb.

Class III fell 2 cents in February to $15.63, March fell 34 cents to $16.22 and April gained 3 cents to $17.43/cwt. The balance of 2021 was 7 lower to 14 higher.

Class IV milk was unchanged in February to $13.28, March gained 20 cents to $14.11, and April gained 18 cents to $14.85/cwt. The balance of the year was unchanged to 19 higher.

The grain complex saw big swings but settled only slightly lower. May corn fell 2 ¼ to 5.47 ½, Soybeans fell 3 ¼ to 14.04 ¼, and soybean meal fell $1.60 to $421.40/ton.
