Milk Futures Continue to Bleed

Class IV traded 30-35 cents lower in the second quarter of 2021.

Barrel cheese was the sole product to see gains in the CME Cash Dairy Product Trade. Barrels added ¼ of a penny to $1.40/lb on 4 trades. Blocks were 1.75 cents lower to $1.5925/lb. Butter sank 8 cents to $1.28/lb. Grade A Nonfat milk fell 2.50 cents to $1.1375/lb. Dry Whey gave up 4.25 cents of its recent gains to $.4975/lb.

Milk futures bled red in both the class III and class IV market. January fell 3 cents to $16.13/cwt. February tumbled 48 cents to $15.38/cwt. March took a nosedive of 47 cents to $16.57/cwt. Similar weakness was seen throughout the rest of 2021. Class IV traded 30-35 cents lower in the second quarter of 2021.

Grains continued there ascent higher on the week. March soybeans gained 26.75 cents to $13.7025/bushel. March corn surged 20.75 cents to $5.3225/bushel. March soybean meal rose $6.90 to $436.50/ton. March Chicago Wheat climbed 16.75 cents to $6.6525/bushel.

Cattle and hogs printed red and green ink. February live cattle added 47 cents to $117.00/cwt. January feeders lost 90 cents to $135.65/cwt. February lean hogs fell 17 cents to $70.45/cwt. March crude oil declined 24 cents to $52.53/barrel.
