Milk Prices Continue to Stumble

A sideways spot trade fed the week of falling milk prices.

 June lost a dime and ended at $15.19/cwt whereas July settled at $15.97, August at $16.87, and September closed at $17.74/cwt.

A sideways spot trade fed the week of falling milk prices. Cheese and butter were mostly lower with only Cheddar blocks seeing green. Cheddar Blocks gained 1 ¾ cents to $1.81 ¾/lb but Cheddar blocks slid 2 ½ cents to $2.06 1/2/lb. Butter slid a half a penny to $2.92 ½.

Dairy powders had Grade A Non Fat Dry milk falling 2 3/4/lb to $1.36/lb and Dry whey was unchanged at $0.45/lb.

Class III milk settled November at $21.01 and Class IV at $23.30/cwt. December Class III fell 2 cents to $19.83 with January down 19 cents to $19.42/cwt. Class IV milk was a smaller shuffle lower. December was unchanged at $21.55, January down 9 to $20.51 and February down 4 cents to $20.10/cwt.

Grain markets were mixed with corn down to $6.62/bu, but soybeans gaining to $14.69 ½ and soybean meal gaining almost $10/ton to $417.70/ton.
