Milk Prices Dip Lower

Class III milk futures were slightly lower on the day.

Dairy products were steady to lower on Thursday. Block cheese remained at $2.2350/lb. Barrel cheese dropped 5.25 cents to $1.98/lb. Dry Whey held steady at $0.44/lb. Butter fell 1.25 cents to $2.94/lb. Nonfat milk settled at $1.44/lb.

Class III milk futures were slightly lower on the day. December milk fell 22 cents to $21.70/cwt. January milk lost 14 cents to $20.72/cwt. February milk declined 8 cents to $20.37/cwt. Class IV milk futures were 5-15 cents lower on the day.

The grain markets were mixed Thursday. December corn added 2.25 cents to $6.6750/bu. November soybeans decreased 13.75 cents to $14.4175/bu. December soybean meal eased 90 cents to $405.70/ton.

The livestock sector was higher on the day. February live cattle rose $1.15 to $155.40/cwt. January feeder cattle tacked on $2.50 to $179.97/cwt. February lean hogs added 45 cents to $90.80/cwt. December crude oil plunged $3.69 to $81.90/barrel.
