Milk Prices Flatline

Butter softened a half cent to $2.91/lb, barrels lost a half cent to $2.1425/lb, and nonfat dry milk declined a penny to $1.78/lb.

CME spot dairy product prices were mainly flat to lower during Monday’s session. Butter softened a half cent to $2.91/lb, barrels lost a half cent to $2.1425/lb, and nonfat dry milk declined a penny to $1.78/lb. Blocks ended unchanged at $20.9/lb while dry whey added 2.5 cents with its settlement printed at $0.50/lb.

Class III prices dropped out through October 2022 with July softening 35 cents while August was down 42. Class IV printed real moderate losses ranging from 5-10 cents/cwt.

The grain complex saw corn fall 21 cents with new crop December coming in at $6.53/cwt. Soybeans added around 10 cents while meal was up $3/ton.
