Milk Prices Soar Higher

Class III milk futures soared on the day. June gained 22 cents to $24.79/cwt. July milk launched a 42-cent gain to $24.82/cwt. 2023 milk futures also saw nice increases.

In the CME spot dairy product auction, barrels gave up a nickel to $2.40/lb. Block cheese was up half a penny to $2.38/lb. Whey dropped ¼ of a penny to $0.50/lb. Butter gained 3.50 cents to $2.8275/lb. NFDM advanced 4.50 cents to $1.79/lb.

Class III milk futures soared on the day. June gained 22 cents to $24.79/cwt. July milk launched a 42-cent gain to $24.82/cwt. 2023 milk futures also saw nice increases. Class IV milk futures climbed higher. June exploded for a 68-cent gain. July added 58 cents to $25.05/cwt.

The grain market was a mixed bag. December corn fell 4.25 cents to $7.36/bu. November soybeans finished 15 cents higher to $15.1450/bu. December soybean meal rallied $8.90 to $409.00/ton. September Chicago Wheat fell 27 cents to $12.06/bu.

The livestock market also was varied. August live cattle added 32 cents to $132.02/cwt. August feeders declined 60 cents to $165.20/cwt. July lean hogs decreased $1.55 to $106.97/cwt. July crude oil increased $1.81 to $111.40/barrel.
