Bayer HealthCare, LLC, Animal Health Division in partnership with Sheila McGuirk, a University of Wisconsin veterinarian, are introducing the Breathe Easy BRD Detection and Treatment Kit.
Bovine respiratory disease (BRD), commonly known as pneumonia in calves, is responsible for more than 20% of pre-weaning and 50% of post-weaning calf deaths. “Early identification and proper treatment of dairy calf pneumonia before permanent damage can occur is essential to maintaining a healthy and successful dairy operation,” says McGuirk.
The Breathe Easy kit is designed to screen, identify and treat BRD. The kit contains a symptom-identification guide, a scorecard record-keeping booklet and a specially-designed pouch with pockets for bottles of Baytril 100 and syringes.
