A Greek yogurt maker that’s erecting a new facility in Twin Falls is winning locals’ loyalty, though it’s yet to roll a single container of its dairy products off Idaho production lines.

Since New York-based Agro-Farma Inc.'s November announcement it would build a plant here by mid-2012 , local retailers say shoppers have been buying Chobani products at an accelerated clip.

The Twin Falls Times-News (http:// bit.ly/ uGwRpP ) reports Ben Swensen of Swensen’s market has seen a sales lift.

And the local Fred Meyer received reinforcements from Idaho Falls immediately after the announcement , so rapidly were the plain, honey, strawberry, blueberry, pomegranate and mango dairy snacks moving off its shelves.

That’s slowed some in intervening weeks, a manager says, but sales remain brisker than before the news.

Dairy is Idaho’s biggest agricultural industry.
