The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported the U.S. all-milk price for October at $19.90, down $1.20/cwt from September but still $1.40 higher than a year ago.
The highest all-milk price was reported in Florida, at $25.50. The lowest was $18 in California. Wisconsin’s October price was $19.80; Idaho, $18.30, New York, $21.50 and Pennsylvania, $22.30. Most prices have dropped about $1.50/cwt from September.
USDA also reported alfalfa prices topped $200/ton for the first time in history, coming in at $203. That’s up $7/ton from September and a whopping $107 higher than a year ago!
Corn prices averaged $5.92/bu, down 45¢ since September. Soybeans averaged $11.90/bu, down 30¢ since last month.
