Sen. Gillibrand Calls On FDA to Lower SCC Limit

The emergency action is required to allow the U.S. to continue to export dairy ingredients and products into the European Union.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is calling on the Food and Drug Administration to implement an emergency rule to lower U.S. somatic cell count limits to 400,000 cells/ml, reports the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

The emergency action is required to allow the U.S. to continue to export dairy ingredients and products into the European Union.
