Goldfish and Ritz Crackers have been pulled from store shelves due to salmonella concerns potentially linked to whey powder. Flower Foods voluntarily recalled the snack items.
The company earlier this month recalled their Swiss Rolls along with Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread as a precautionary. The moves come as a result of the potential presence of salmonella in a whey powder ingredient supplied by Associated Milk Producers.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, there have been no cases of illness associated with the recalled products. The recall has only been “issued out of an abundance of caution,” not due to evidence of actual contamination.
