The National Dairy Shrine (NDS) announced today it is cancelling its 2020 annual awards banquet, which had been scheduled for Oct. 1 during World Dairy Expo. Expo has also been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our Board reviewed several different options and came to the decision that, with regard to the COVID-19 situation and the health and safety of everyone who gather for the event, to cancel this year’s awards banquet,” says Nate Janssen, NDS president. “We look forward to hosting the event again in 2021.”

At next year’s event, scheduled for Sept. 30, honorees for both 2020 and 2021 will be recognized. Scholarship winners from 2020 will also be recognized in 2021, though the scholarship monies will be awarded later this year.
