Federal officials have cited a company for safety violations following a worker’s death in Nebraska.
The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration says Wisconsin-based Double Dutch Dairy has four serious safety violations. Officials issued $22,500 in fines.
A worker in the company’s Shelby location was killed in June after being struck by a front-end loader hauling hay. Officials say an inspection after the death showed the driver’s view was obstructed.
OSHA says employees were exposed to certain hazards and were neither trained in safe equipment operation nor required to use seat belt restraints.
