The average number of licensed dairy farms fell to 37,478 in 2018, according to 2018 USDA data. As the number of dairies continues to decline, we wondered: would you encourage your children to enter the dairy industry? According to a 2019 dairyherd.com poll, about two-thirds of readers don’t want their kids to enter dairy.
