Class III Prices Not Sure What Direction to Go

Class III futures were mixed today. June milk lost a dime to $17.05/cwt. July slid 18 cents to $17.44/cwt. August milk declined slightly with September and October finishing in green.

Grade A Nonfat Milk jumped 3 cents higher to $1.30/lb in the CME Cash Dairy Product Trade. Butter remains at $1.77/lb. Blocks lost 1 to $1.4650/lb. Barrels fell ¾ of a penny to $1.5775/lb. Dry Whey gained 1 penny to $.6050/lb.

Class III futures were mixed today. June milk lost a dime to $17.05/cwt. July slid 18 cents to $17.44/cwt. August milk declined slightly with September and October finishing in green. Class IV milk was higher on the strength of nonfat milk and butter.

Both old crop corn and soybeans finished about 20 cents off today’s high while new crop finished 8-10 cents off its peak today. July soybean meal gained $2.90 to $389.90/ton. September Chicago Wheat added 5.25 cents to $6.9175/bushel.

Red and green were both seen in the cattle and lean hog markets today. June live cattle gained 50 cents to $116.72. August feeders dropped 95 cents to $149.25/cwt. June lean hogs finished 80 cents higher to $120.70/cwt. July crude oil was up 82 cents to $70.05/barrel.
