Class III Prices Soften to End the Week

Blocks and barrels continued to slip lower to close out the week in the CME Cash Dairy Product Trade.

 June lost a dime and ended at $15.19/cwt whereas July settled at $15.97, August at $16.87, and September closed at $17.74/cwt.

Blocks and barrels continued to slip lower to close out the week in the CME Cash Dairy Product Trade. Block cheese lost 1 cent to $1.57/lb. Barrels gave up 2 to settle at $1.6075/lb. Grade A Nonfat Milk slide half a penny to $1.2975/lb. Dry Whey remained at $.6450/lb.

Class III milk futures softened once again. May milk dropped 1 to $18.97/cwt. June milk declined 21 cents to $18.13/cwt. July through December finished 4 cents higher to 17 cents lower.

The grain complex also saw weakness to end the week. December corn dropped 5.50 cents to $5.4650/bushel. November soybeans decreased 7.25 cents to $13.6050/bushel. July soybean meal fell $2.20 to $398.90/ton. September Chicago Wheat inched ¾ of a penny lower to $6.77/bushel.

Cattle and lean hogs were one of the few bright spots in Friday’s trading session. June live cattle gained $1.07 to $117.67/cwt. August feeders surged $2.62 to $153.70/cwt. June lean hogs rallied $1.97 to $114.22/cwt. July crude oil rebounded $1.92 to $63.86/barrel.
