Years ago, a man named Frank Warren started a community project called PostSecret. He encouraged people to make and mail him postcards confessing their deepest, darkest secrets. Each week, he selects different secrets to post to his website (www.postsecret.com). Some of them are happy, some silly, some heartbreaking, and others are truly terrifying. They range in subject matter from “I pee in the shower” to “I fantasize about my boss” to confessions of being raped. It’s a way for people to say the things they can’t say out loud, but still feel that therapeutic release.
Jessica Peters, owner and operator of Spruce Row Farm, wants to do that for agriculture. She wants to give you a release, because being in ag is hard right now. Completely anonymously, let it out. Say the things you’re afraid to say out loud. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Vent about working with your family/inlaws, release your fears for the future, or the things you love/hate about being a farmer.
Take a look at the first batch in the slideshow above. Want to send in your own? Do so here.
Visit the Ag Secrets homepage to learn more about the project, send in your own secret and read more confessions from your peers.
