In Bernville, Pa., where dairy farming is a way of life, the Way-Har Family Farm is setting the stage for a celebration that blends their love for dairy with their passion for football. While every day demands teamwork to tackle the challenges of running a family farm, this Sunday, the spotlight shifts from routine chores to rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Eagles-Themed Celebrations: From Jerseys to Desserts
On this Super Bowl Sunday, the farm isn’t just focused on efficiency to finish chores early; it bursts into Eagles fanfare with unique celebrations. Every corner of the farm wears its Eagles’ pride, a testament to the creativity of the Lesher family. The calves trot around in custom Eagles jerseys, each proudly displaying the team colors. Lolly Lesher, a third-generation farmer with football coursing through her veins, explains their flair:

“We are so excited that the Eagles are going to the Big Game,” Lesher shares. “Our calves always wear jackets in the winter to stay warm, but this year, we decided they should join in the fun.”

Star Attraction: No. 26 Calf
Among the delightfully attired calves, one takes center stage. Sporting a Saquon Barkley jersey, a nod to the Penn State alum and local hero, this No. 26 calf epitomizes the blend of dedication and adoration that drives the Lesher family.

Swoop’s Scoops: A Sweet Tribute to the Eagles
Beyond the bustling barns, the farm’s creamery undergoes a temporary transformation into “Swoop’s Scoops” – a tribute to the Eagles’ mascot. Here, Lesher channels her team spirit into specialty ice creams made with milk from their herd.

“We have some specialty flavors of ice cream to celebrate,” Lesher says. “For a limited time, patrons can delight in flavors such as Tush Pushstachio, Cookies & DeJean, Birth-Slay Cake, and Mint Blanken-Chip.”

From Pasture to Pint: Passion and Quality
The Lesher family’s commitment remains at the heart of their operations. Milking 280 Registered Holsteins and Jerseys, the farm grew alongside their burgeoning enthusiasm. Their store, Way-Har Farm Market, offers fresh farm milk that symbolizes quality and love. Every scoop of ice cream echoes this dedication from pasture to pint.

Cheering On the Eagles: A Community Celebration
As the Eagles prepare to take the field, the Lesher family, joined by a local fan base, prepares to cheer them on. Within a festive atmosphere defined by calves sporting Eagle jerseys and brightly hued scoops of ice cream, the family will unite over celebrations of double cheese pizza and sweet treats. However, cows remain a priority, and Lesher admits with a smile, they might just miss the kickoff.

“Cows come first,” she notes, a mantra that embodies their balanced life of passion and responsibility.
