February All-Milk Price At $18.40

USDA announced this afternoon that the U.S. all-milk price for February was $18.40/cwt., up $1.70 from January and up $2.50 from a year ago.

USDA announced this afternoon that the U.S. all-milk price for February was $18.40/cwt, up $1.70 from January and up $2.50 from a year ago.

California’s all-milk price comes in at $17.70. Wisconsin, $18.90; Idaho, $17.40; New York, $18.50, and Pennsylvania, $19.80.

Western alfalfa prices are also on the rise, buoyed by dairy producers’ ability to pay. California alfalfa is at $170/ton, up from $109 a year ago. Idaho alfalfa is at $149, up from $107 last year. Midwest alfalfa prices have fallen however. USDA reports alfalfa at $120 to $125/ton for Wisconsin and Minnesota, down from $120 to $125 last year.
