At this time of year, when fortunate families are celebrating and planning their holiday menus, not everybody has enough to eat. That’s why cheesemaker George Crave of Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics Cheeses got busy and made 1,000 pounds of string cheese.
Presented in generous two-pound packages, the string cheese has been donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin in Madison. This gift of holiday cheese will help 500 families celebrate the season and share the bounty of Crave Brothers state-of-the-art family farm.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization serving more than 141,000 people each year; 43% of them are children. To learn more about the organization, visit the website at www.secondharvestmadison.org.
As award-winning artisan cheesemakers, the Crave Brothers specialize in creating cheeses from Wisconsin. On their family farm, Charles, George, Tom and Mark Crave operate their farmstead cheese factory. The farm itself emphasizes conservation and sustainable practices.
