Even if you’re not a fan of the Green and Gold, the renowned Green Bay Packers, the newly debuted movie is a must-see, especially if your heart beats for the American farmer. The film stars Craig T. Nelson, famous for his roles in “Coach,” “Parenthood,” and “Young Sheldon,” and he brings to life the story of a fourth-generation dairy farmer facing the brink of foreclosure. The family gambles everything on the Packers, literally betting the farm on the team to win the Super Bowl and save their legacy.
Resonance and Relatability
Without revealing too much, I can say that for my husband, Scott, and me, watching this film was an experience that highlighted everything that is right in the world. It resonated deeply as it portrayed the struggles of farmers, yet it was also a testament to the family’s unwavering commitment—to their land, their cattle, their family, and their community.
In the midst of our ever-changing world, this film’s release couldn’t have been timelier. It served as a powerful reminder of the virtues embodied by the American dairy farmer: hard work, grit, dedication, love, care, and faith. These are qualities that are increasingly rare and precious.
A Tribute to Farmers
As we left the theatre, my husband gently clasped my hand. It was a moment of warmth and comfort, reminding me of how fortunate I am to be with one of the good ones. Scott is a dedicated leader, a hard-working man, a devoted family man, and a true community leader.
So, here’s to the farmers. In moments when it might feel as though the world is stacked against you, know that many of us stand cheering you on. Your unwavering spirit and dedication do not go unnoticed.
This film captures the essence of resilience and community—reminding us of all of the values that keep us grounded. For anyone who cares about the spirit of the American farmer or simply loves a heartwarming story, this movie is not to be missed.
In a world that’s ever-changing, may there always be a place for stories that spotlight the undying dedication and spirit of the American farmer. I’m so proud of Culver’s for making this movie – and storyline – to the big screen. I’ve never been more proud to be tied to agriculture.
