Beef Checkoff
Cattle producers Andy Bishop of Kentucky, Ryan Moorhouse of Texas and Dr. Cheryl DeVuyst of Oklahoma are the new leaders of the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion & Research Board (CBB).
Regardless of how lab-grown protein products are categorized, the federal law that created the Beef Checkoff does not allow such products to be promoted.
Each $1 invested in the national beef checkoff returns $11.91 to producer profits, according to research conducted by Cornell University professor Harry M. Kaiser.
USDA is proposing to expand the contracting authority for the Beef Promotion and Research Program.
