Through September, dairy cows slaughtered through Federally-inspected plants were running 79,000 head fewer than last year, USDA reported this morning. That’s 3.7% fewer cows heading to McDonald’s (and Burger King and Wendy’s, et al.) than last year.
Still, September cow slaughter was 6,000 ahead of September 2009 and 12,000 ahead of August 2010. For the complete report, click here.
