Investigators say three men have been arrested on theft charges after a farm's security camera caught two of them stealing a calf in Bedford County, Tenn.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture says Jamie Vaughn, Floyd Vaughn and Billy Batten were arrested in late February and charged with felony theft of property.

Investigators say the owner of a Bedford County farm installed a trail camera after two dairy calves were taken from his property in January. The camera caught the theft of the third calf in February.

The calves, valued at $1,800, were later recovered in Moore County.

Investigator Max Thomas said the high price of beef can be motivation for thieves to steal cattle.

The department says it investigated 22 theft cases involving 151 head of cattle in 2014.
